Hosted by the Greater Woodward Northwestern Alumni Task Force, Red Tie Jazz is an opportunity for alumni and friends to reconnect while enjoying wine, hors d’oeuvres and the sounds of the Northwestern Jazz Ensemble and University Singers. In addition, this year’s event will celebrate the two decades since the Woodward campus was established.
The Northwestern Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Marc Decker, is the premier jazz band on the Northwestern-Alva campus. The University Singers, conducted by Mr. Karsten Longhurst, is the internationally recognized choral ensemble of Northwestern.
Dr. Deena Fisher, dean of the Woodward campus, encourages alumni and friends to attend the event.
“The Red Tie Jazz is one of our most popular events,” said Fisher. “We ask all our friends and supporters to join us in celebrating 20 years as a campus in Woodward and 10 years since we opened the doors to our new building. Please join us for a relaxing evening of food, friends and good conversation.”
Admission to the event is free. In addition to wine – provided by the Woodward Industrial Foundation – and hors d’oeuvres, nonalcoholic beverages will be available. The Woodward Conference Center is located at 3401 Centennial Drive in Woodward. For more details, please contact John Allen, director of alumni relations, at 580-327-8594 or jwallen@nwosu.edu.
