The Apologia Society of Northwestern Oklahoma State University welcomes the public to a special lecture by Dr. Edwin M. Yamauchi titled “Archaeology and the Old Testament,” on Monday, April 8, at 7 p.m. in the Education Center, room 109.
There is no charge for this event that is open to the public.
Yamauchi currently is a professor of history emeritus at Miami University in Ohio. He is the recipient of the Biblical Archaeological Society Award for his co-edited work, “Peoples of the Old Testament World.” He also is author and editor of numerous books, including “Africa and Africans in Antiquity,” “Africa and the Bible,” “Persia and the Bible,” “Two Kingdoms: The Church and Culture through the Ages” and “The Stones and the Scriptures.”
The Apologia Society strives to reconcile faith and reason as complementary disciplines through scholarly investigation. It also seeks to employ scholarly analysis to discuss the reliability and credibility of claims of the Judeo-Christian worldview and illuminate the profound impact it has exerted upon Western culture and beyond.
