NWOSU Foundation Release
Friends and
alumni of Northwestern Oklahoma State University and members of the Alva and
surrounding communities are invited to a special screening of “The Wizard of Oz”
in celebration of the film’s 75th anniversary, Thursday, Aug. 28,
in Herod Hall Auditorium, Alva campus. Moviegoers will be treated to free snow cones from
Frosty Joe’s from 6 to 7 p.m. The movie will begin at 7 p.m.
A costume contest will be held during
intermission with prizes given for first, second and third
place winners for best costume. Those entering the contest are asked to check
in at Herod Hall at 6:30 p.m. Participants also will have the chance to win
door prizes throughout the evening.
This special screening of “The Wizard of
Oz” is the fifth event in the Community Connection Series hosted by the
Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association. The series programming is
committed to establishing new and strengthening current relationships between
members of northwest Oklahoma communities and Northwestern Oklahoma State
University.
