The tales of Goldilocks, the Three Bears, Red Riding Hood, the Three Pigs and Hansel and Gretel all will be blended into one delightful play for Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s theatre fans on Nov. 15-17 in Herod Hall Auditorium.

“A Walk in the Woods” will be shown to area grade school children on Thursday, Nov. 15, and Friday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The public is invited to see the production on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m., for a $1 admission.

While staying true to the original stories, Goldilocks is on the run from the Three Bears but takes time to help Red Riding Hood, who is leery of her stepmother’s motivation in sending her out into the woods at dusk with a basket full of food and a bright red cloak. Along the way, they are saved by the Woodsman (who also happens to be Hansel and Gretel’s father) and from the zany Wolf (the same canine who plagues the Three Pigs). Along with citizens of Mother Goose’s village, this story includes Jack Horner, the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker.
