Gretchen Jones, Coronado Hall supervisor at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, has been selected by the Staff Council as the recipient of the 2016 spring semester Campus Kudos Award.

The nomination from Shane Hansen, director of students/housing, said “Gretchen continually goes above and beyond to help dorm residents in Coronado Hall. Gretchen receives knocks on her door and phone calls at all hours of the day and night, including weekends. Gretchen always handles each situation with professionalism and a smile. She constantly strives to help each dorm resident reach their potential socially as well as academically. Gretchen provides a family atmosphere in the dorms to truly help create a home away from home for students.”

Campus Kudos is a public acknowledgment created by the Northwestern Staff Council that applauds the efforts of eligible staff members who have displayed an act of kindness above their job responsibilities.

Other nominees for the 2016 fall semester were Katie Botts, administrative assistant; Jeremy Coolley, maintenance; Fred Riggins, maintenance and telecommunications; David Washington, carpenter and events facilitator; Natalie Miller, assistant certification officer in the Division of Education; Angie Henson, secretary of the School of Professional Studies; and Debbie Anderson, custodial supervisor.

“We had several very deserving nominees for Campus Kudos for this semester,” Judy Dollar, Staff Council chair, said. “The results were very close! Thank you to employees who nominated a staff employee to receive Campus Kudos. We would like to encourage you to continue to nominate and if your candidate doesn’t get chosen, please feel free to re-nominate them.”

Nominees for Staff Campus Kudos are made by Northwestern employees including administration, faculty and staff. The nominees are presented to the Staff Council Committee for a final vote. There is no limit to how many times an employee can be nominated.

The next Campus Kudos award will be presented during the fall 2016 semester for the fall recipient. It will honor a Northwestern staff member who makes a difference at Northwestern, goes above and beyond their job expectations, is a team player, and has “Ranger Pride.”
