Students leave Northwestern Oklahoma State University with the knowledge to succeed in a particular field. In their final semester, 23 senior education students have entered area schools to gain hands-on experience student teaching.
The students will return to campus for seminars in March and May. Their portfolio exit interviews will be during finals week, May 7-10. Graduation is scheduled for May 11.
Listed below are the students, their hometowns and teaching assignments.
English education – Robin Cline, Mooreland, Woodward Middle School; Mandy Fields, Shidler, Kaw City-Shidler Middle School.
Health and Sports Science Education – Pete Phillips, Alva, Burlington Public Schools; Tyler Severin, Goltry, Timberlake High School.
Elementary education – Ryan Bush, Enid, Taft Elementary (Enid); Kendra Frech, Helena, Sunset Elementary (Edmond); Shavonn Heidlage, Kingfisher, Gilmour Elementary (Kingfisher); Casey Hicks, Ponca City, Trout Elementary (Ponca City); Tessa Odette, Newkirk, awaiting placement in Kansas.

Zachary Zook, Waynoka, will spend his final semester at Alva High School teaching social science.
Math education students Jordan Severin, Goltry, and Kaitlin McAllister, Choctaw, will teach at Timberlake High School and Caldwell (Kan.) High School, respectively.
Jason Carl, Conway Springs (Kan.), will teach agriculture education in Winfield (Kan.).
