Members in Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Hispanic American Leadership Organization and Spanish Club are playing host to a salsa tasting contest Thursday, April 16, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. The cost to be a taster is $1 and is open to the public.

There will be three categories in the competition including sweet, mild and hot salsas. Only students can compete in the contest. Students must complete the pre-registration form with Dr. Claudia Young, assistant professor of Spanish. A maximum of 30 entries will be taken, and Young expects to have about 10 entrants per category.

First through third place in each category will receive prizes, up to $45 from El Maya, Taco Mayo and The Donut Palace.
Deadline for registration is April 14.
