 Bahama Breakaway
Northwestern Oklahoma State University students will be enjoying Bahama Breakaway on Alva’s downtown square Thursday, April 23, from 1-4:30 p.m.  Each year Northwestern’s Student Government Association (SGA) sponsors this fun event for students before they dive into finals.

Free hamburgers and hotdogs will be available for students provided, cooked and served by Alva Chamber of Commerce. They also will have a chance for cash prizes in a volleyball tournament, water balloon toss, sack race, wheel barrow race and limbo contest. The volleyball tournament signup ends at 1:15 p.m. that day.

This year the SGA has more than $600 to offer in prizes as well as gift card giveaways throughout the event.

Obstacle courses and a photo booth with props will be set up on the square for student participation, and free Frosty Joe’s Sno-Cones will be available to students provided by the Northwestern club Something Greater.

Bahama Breakaway T-shirts are still available in the Northwestern Business Office for $10 per shirt. They also will be sold at the event.

Contact Kaylyn Hansen, director of student life and counseling, with questions about Bahama Breakaway at (580) 327-8439 or klhansen@nwosu.edu.
