Family Day at Northwestern Oklahoma State University is Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19-20. Due to the chance of inclement weather, there has been a location change to two of the Family Day events. The presidential pre-game program will be held in the Ranger Room of the Student Center at 11 a.m. and the tailgate party will be in the Student Center Ballroom at 11:45 a.m.
Family Day registration is Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Northwestern Bookstore. At registration families will receive free tickets to the football game and a chance to win additional prizes.
The annual event brings families to campus where they can take tours, purchase Ranger gear, shop for tuition scholarships and attend a Ranger football game.
Students and their families will hear from Northwestern’s President Dr. Janet Cunningham and will have the opportunity to meet with Northwestern faculty members at the pre-game program.
Food and drinks will be served for $3 a person at the tailgate party, which will go until kickoff.
The event wraps up with the Ranger football game at 1 p.m. The Rangers will go up against Arkansas-Monticello at Ranger Field.
Families are invited to visit the Alva merchants to “shop for tuition” to register for a $500, $300 or $200 tuition giveaway for the spring semester of 2015. This opportunity is Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m. Families can register as many times as they’d like, and the winning names will be drawn during halftime of the football game (must be present to win).
