“Echoes of Peace” is the theme for the Northwestern Oklahoma State University choirs performance on Monday, April 29, at the First Baptist Church in Alva. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. at 714 College Ave.
The public is invited to attend this concert.
When considering a theme for the choir performance, Dr. Irene Messoloras, Department of Fine Arts chair, said she thought of the term peace and how everyone must be respectful of one another’s beliefs and cultures.
“No matter where you are in the world, everyone is proud of where they came from,” Messoloras said.
The theme is based on a cantata by Benjamin Britten, an English composer, conductor and pianist. Musicians from the Oklahoma City Philharmonic will work alongside Northwestern choir students to put on a great performance that will feature the choir in a diverse way.
